We are excited to announce that Hastings County has received this year’s Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Marketing Excellence in Ontario!!! Presented last evening at the Economic Developers Council of Ontario’s (EDCO) 54th annual conference in Toronto, the Award recognizes Hastings’ new Communities with Opportunities investment marketing strategy as the top economic development project in Ontario.
“We are honoured to receive this award”, stated Hastings County Warden Jo-Anne Albert. “This is a wonderful recognition of all the hard work our staff and committee of volunteers have put into developing this new strategy to help grow our local economy.”
The new investment marketing strategy was launched in early 2010 providing all 14 member municipalities with a recognizable logo and tagline, while resonating to a wide audience about the competitive advantages of living and working in Hastings County. The strategy was financed in part by a provincial rural economic development grant that was used to retain consultants SmallWorld Marketing Group Inc. The brand and logo has been used in magazine and radio advertisements, on the Internet and social media sites and even on an iPhone application which garnered another separate award at the conference.
“This is the top economic development award in Ontario”, notes Economic Development Manager Andrew Redden who attended the conference and accepted the award from the Honourable David Onley. “With this award, we are basically being told that the programs and services we are offering to support economic development are considered the best in our field.” For more information on our County’s investment marketing strategy and goals, visit us here.
