CATS MEDIA

In 2008 Laurie Carr and Julie Mavis opened Cats Media in Port Hope.  Ms. Carr initially got involved in her family printing business in Toronto and invited Ms. Mavis to join in 2001 after they had worked on a mutual project together successfully. Between the two of them they started expanding into new territories outside of print work which include consultative marketing services, graphic design, digital photography, videography, IT services and web development complete with design, hosting and SEO. These additional services required a unique space and a skilled work force so they decided to open a second location where they live in Port Hope

Equipped with desktop Macs, laptops, colour copiers and an arsenal of software, business was soon up and running.  The local staff complete most of the new services in house, so now six creative brains work out of a funky studio in downtown heritage Port Hope, where their creative juices can flow uninterrupted alongside the Ganaraska River.  Working in a smaller community away from the hustle and bustle of the big city offers staff the opportunity to network on a regular basis with local businesses and lends itself to form community partner involvement.

Their Port Hope clientele include not for profit organizations, retail, and major industry as well as government.  Along with their staff, Carr and Mavis stay current with trends by attending conferences for creative freelancers, designers and manager of creative environments. In an ever changing industry the challenges are to stay on top of change as fast as it happens.  What is current today can quickly be outdated by tomorrow.

Cats Media is located at 90 Queen Street, Port Hope, Ontario 905-885-9998  www.catsmedia.ca
