Business is booming at IDEAHUB. Three new tenants join Port Hope’s business incubator. OMPEX, Delice Foods, and Five Archers are the latest new businesses to join the Peter Street facility.
Port Hope’s IDEAHUB is pleased to welcome The Apple Crumble Company as the latest tenant to join the Municipality’s business incubator. Baking has begun in the IDEAHUB’s newly renovated kitchen and sweet aromas waft through the building. Owner Jill Lawrence is happy to be providing Northumberland County with baked crumbles made from fresh, local ingredients. “We are excited to be moving forward with business right along the Apple Route and our location at IDEAHUB is a great launching pad.”
The Municipality of Port Hope welcomes Tervita as the latest tenant to join Port Hope’s IDEAHUB. Owned Entertainment (Canada) Inc. announced today that it’s feature film “Own3d” has been fully financed. Filming is to begin July 20th, 2012 in Port Hope and Cobourg, Ontario, Canada. Multiple famous MMA fighters as well as acting talent are attached. The movie is written, produced and will be directed by James Hergott. Hergott has written, directed, and produced several movies, TV episodes and documentaries over the past decade, which includes many MMA projects.
SmallTown Radio will chronicle the daily lives and culture of the residents of West Northumberland County including music, arts, sports, meetings and major tourist events in the community. In addition to diverse music programming, the station will offer play-by-play commentary on sports events, in-depth interviews with local residents and business owners, and promotion of local culture with communications opportunities for artists and not-for-profit organizations.

In the summer of 2011, Port Hope played host to a production crew from Toronto who were filming a pilot for CBC entitled ‘Wish List’ – the story of three generations of women who are travelling through small town Ontario. Along the way, the three encounter trouble when the mischievous daughter steals coins from the small-town Findley’s ancient Wishing Well. The pilot starred Chelah Horsdal, Mary Walsh, Tiera Skovbye and Eric Peterson and will air on CBC.
