Public Input Sought in Community Branding Project

Port Hope

The Municipality of Port Hope is currently undertaking a branding exercise to enhance community marketing initiatives and align with our ongoing efforts to champion Port Hope locally, regionally, and nationally. A strong Municipal brand will be developed through a comprehensive consultation and research process both in the community and with external audiences.

Weave Communications will conduct interviews and focus groups with Council, Senior Staff and representatives from a number of sectors across the community to gain insight into the key elements that characterize Port Hope. Public input is vital to the process and a short survey has been launched to gather input from anyone wishing to participate in the process. The survey is available until June 8, 2012 in paper form at all Municipal facilities or online at www.porthope.ca  under Quick Links.

Following the consultation process, an Open House will be held to provide an overview of the branding project and a summary of community input. The sessions will include a short presentation by Weave Communications and an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and learn more about the branding project. Details on the Open House will be provided in the coming weeks in the two local papers, and the Municipality’s website and social media outlets.

Weave Communications and the Community Branding Working Group will then work toward the development of positioning, the design of brand visuals and image, and creation of an implementation plan. Opportunities for public input into the process will be publicized as the project progresses.
