Why companies should invest in Ontario East
The Quinte Economic Development Commission (QEDC) could soon be handling more calls from companies from across the continent. QEDC has been names one of the top Canadian economic development groups by an influential US-based information source for people who make decisions about business expansions.
In its September 2012 edition, Site Selection magazine selected the Quinte Economic Development Commission for a “Best to Invest” award. It’s designed to recognize the most powerful local economic development groups in Canada.
“We are proud to be in this select group that is recognized nationally,” says Chris King, QEDC’s Chief Executive Officer. “The award acknowledges the hard work of our team and partners, in addition to highlighting the Bay of Quinte Region as one of the premier locations to support growth and investment”
QEDC represents the City of Belleville, Municipality of Brighton and the City of Quinte West. It provides regional marketing programs that attract new industry. It also offers strategic support that helps local industries become more competitive and profitable.
“We have a reputation for promoting growth and investment through building partnerships with manufacturers, educators, politicians and economic development organizations from all levels of government,” says QEDC Chair Ted Reid.
Site Selection magazine selected QEDC because of its private-sector project attraction, regional partnerships, proactive programming, and quality data and Web resources.
