Port Hope introduces an all-new winter event!

Girlfriends Getaway Weekend taking place Friday, February 24th to Sunday, February 26th promises to be the ultimate girlfriend experience.

Port Hope Tourism, the Heritage Business Improvement Area and the Port Hope Chamber of Commerce have banded together to draw women locally and regionally to Port Hope for one exciting weekend.

There will be an abundance of deals, promos, demonstrations, gifts, food tastings, giveaways and many retail outlets are offering a discounts on certain items.

“Yes, we want people from outside to come to Port Hope and stay with us for the weekend. But we also want our regional and local friends to come for the day and take advantage of what they have on their doorstep.” explains Andrea Patterson, Tourism Coordinato

Gather up your girlfriends and plan to join the fun. Visit art galleries, peruse antique shops, warm up with a cappuccino in a cozy café and enjoy the friendly hospitality and excellent service in Port Hope.

The weekend kicks off on Saturday morning at 10am with a welcome reception at the Visitors’ Centre in the Capitol Arts Centre at 20 Queen Street. The first 50 women to drop by will be treated to delicious complimentary coffee, tea, muffins, and croissants and receive a gift bag stuffed with goodies from our local merchants.

Opportunities for fun and entertainment are endless with in-store specials and promotions in local shops, food tastings and refreshments, fashion and makeover tips, entertainment, and much more. Come out for the day or stay for the weekend; Port Hope offers many well appointed B&B’s, inns, and hotels, along with a world class resort spa. Top it all off with a glamorous night out at the Northumberland Players production of “Cabaret” at the Capitol Theatre.

Deputy Mayor Jeff Gilmer, Chair of Economic Development and Tourism stated, “Port Hope is well known for our exceptional community events and Girls Getaway Weekend is a terrific new addition to our winter season. This is a perfect opportunity for girlfriends to get together and discover, or rediscover all the wonderful shops, restaurants, services and entertainment that Port Hope has to offer.”
