Renfrew

England womens captain, Steph Houghton says she is excited to be playing against Brazil in front of a sell-out audience in the North East and wont ever forget how she began out there as a youngster, wearing oversize shirts, that had been handed down by the mens team.
The Lionesses take on Saturday on Brazil, a negative theyve beaten.
Thirty thousand tickets have been offered in Middlesbroughs Riverside Stadium. But, Phil Nevilles side are having gone four games.
Talking to Sky Sports News, Houghton said:Clearly when the likes of me and Jill Scott started at Sunderland, we were 13 or 14 years old.
You had to pay to play, #250 value of subs to play for Sunderland. You had hand me down kits in the mens side to perform , which was extra large guys.
Look, I have seen each side of this last 10 to 15 decades and that I wouldnt change it to the world. I believe that it makes us the gamers. I think were in a position now. I can say Im a footballer. It is my occupation.
But in exactly the exact identical time, I will never forget what we are through, in terms of how we got into the place. The future is actually bright for these young women coming through now, that are 16 or 17.
Got married to Bolton Wanderers defender Stephen Darby.
Three months later he was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND), a condition which affects the brain and nervous system, causing muscular weakness. Fernando Ricksen, former Rangers captain, lost his battle a month.
In Saturdays game, a donation service will be open, with proceeds. The purpose of the charity is to help those suffering, to increase consciousness and to fund research.
Its been hard on a personal level, however I think with the base gives us something else to focus on, said Houghton.
Im trying to focus on my football. I really like being here. My husband is actually supportive of it and now I am supporting his base as far as I can.
The Lionesses game against Brazil will be their first home game as the failure of the World Cup in which they lost from the semi-final to the USA.
Among the greatest threats is very likely to be Brazilian forwards, Marta, whos widely considered to be the greatest player of all time. She has won the FIFA player of the year.
As a defender, Houghton looks forward to playing against her:Those types of players may change games at a moment. She is definitely one of the kind of players.
She drives her team , whether thats her dribbling with the ball or even a few of the hints shes doing. She just loves the big occasions so I have a massive respect for her and everything shes done for the game.
