The end of summer marks the beginning of dance season and what is more synonymous with dance than tutus? Lucky for us, custom-made, couture tutus are available right here in Port Hope!
Enchanted Tutus is a collaborative invention of two local business owners that began when they brought their stores together in one downtown location. Indulgence Clothing & Gifts has been operating in Port Hope since 2004. When owner Charmaine Innes moved the store to her new location at 48 Walton Street in April 2010, the extra space allowed her to join forces with Pat Vieira owner of Moving in Style. The Walton Street location now offers Indulgence’s wide selection of casual clothing & unique gifts at the front and Moving in Style’s complete line of fabulous accessories for dance, skating & gymnastics at the back.
In March 2011 with the combination of Pat’s business savvy and Charmaine’s creative flare, the idea for Enchanted Tutus was born. From simple dress-up tutus to fanciful flower-girl and bridesmaid designs, Enchanted Tutus make every girl feel like a princess. Enchanted Tutus are available in store and by custom order and can be shipped directly to the customer.
In June of this year, http://www.enchantedtutus.ca was launched and the adventures continue. Enchanted Tutus’ gorgeous line of couture creations are selling like crazy for weddings, parties and just for fun. In fact, these special one of a kind tutus recently caught the eye of Fashion Icon Jeanne Beker who raved about Enchanted Tutus on Twitter!
The very first Tutu Day was held at the store location in the spring with great feedback and Enchanted Tea Parties can be booked for an at-home experience complete with dress up tutus and fairy princess helpers to create a very special day your little princess will never forget.
Enchanted Tutus is one more great story of Port Hope business owners collaborating not only on creative use of retail space but creating a whole new business in the process.
