Hastings County is hosting its first in a series of networking events titled “Creative Hastings”. The event will be held on March 21 from 6:30 to 8:30pm at West Wing’s Espresso Bar, Cafe and Books in downtown Stirling.
Everyone is invited to attend this free networking event which will describe the creative economy in Hastings County while showcasing some local creative businesses.
Canada’s economy is changing. Over the past 30 years, Ontario has experienced a shift from an industrial based economy to one based on creative, knowledge and innovation. In Hastings County today, approximately 1/3 of businesses are part of the creative economy and creative jobs are forecast to grow by 40% over the next decade. Creative wages are also generally higher on average and infrastructure requirements are low, aside from access to high-speed Internet.
On March 21, the evening will consist of brief presentations by a number of creative entrepreneurs accompanied by some social and networking time.
Look for the second Creative Hastings event to take place on May 23 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Coe Hill.
