Cottager “Puts Roots Down” In Haliburton County

Innovative Haliburton

A recent article in the Haliburton Echo featured a story about a choreographer (Jackie McChesney) & former cottager that has made Haliburton her home.

In an article about Haliburton’s creative economy, Jim Blake speaks about what makes Haliburton so appealing,One of Haliburton County’s greatest assets, is the number of people who have an attachment to this place – they have a family cottage, went to summer camp, came as a tourist or attended a course at the Haliburton School of The Arts. McChesney is one of these people:

“There came a point where I wanted to get out of the city, to get away from the cars and the traffic and everything. My heart was already here, I love it here, and I’d like to be able to stay here and put my roots down here.”
