An Enterprise Adventure For Youth

Hastings County

Although the majority of people in our area choose to work for someone else, there is always the option of starting one’s own business.

Really, the only way to become wealthy is to be in control of your own income.

Youth enterprise has always been important to Community Futures (CFDC). We believe that youth in this area have the potential to develop an idea into a thriving business. CFDC has the resources and tools to help people succeed in becoming entrepreneurs.

During March Break (March 14-18, 2011) CFDC is hosting the award-winning ‘Business Builders’ youth workshop, which is a fun and exciting program designed to teach youth (aged 10-13) all about becoming entrepreneurs.

After the five days of Business Builders, participants will have formed sufficient business plans with which real enterprises could be started.

The Business Builders workshop runs Monday through Friday of March break, from 9am to 3pm. This workshop is free of charge and participants will receive all the materials they need.

Applications can be submitted to Community Futures (in person, by mail, or by fax) until Friday, March 4th.

The Community Futures Development Corporation of North & Central Hastings and South Algonquin takes great pride in working with small businesses to create jobs in our community. Please be sure to see the latest edition of our “Small Business Success” newsletter.
